Student Design Challenge

Empower 2026 also includes a Student Design Challenge, created to encourage students and early-stage innovators to contribute to the assistive technology sector.

The challenge features real-world problem statements covering areas such as accessible education, classroom captioning, tactile learning, accessible infrastructure, communication, mobility and independent living.

Shortlisted teams will have the opportunity to present their prototypes at Empower 2026. The winning team will receive a ₹50,000 cash prize, while two runner-up teams will receive ₹25,000 each.
